Short answers about fees, deadlines, medical bills and what to do when the insurance company calls. If your question isn’t here, ask Eduard. The call is free.
Nothing upfront. We work on contingency: our fee is a percentage of what we recover for you, and if we recover nothing, you owe nothing.
No honest attorney can give you a number on the first call, and you should be careful with anyone who does. Value depends on your injuries, the treatment you need, the time you miss at work and the insurance available. Once we have seen your medical records we can talk about a realistic range.
After a motor vehicle accident, New York no-fault insurance pays medical bills and part of your lost earnings no matter who caused the crash. Outside motor vehicle cases, how medical bills are handled depends on the circumstances and the coverage available, including health insurance or Workers’ Compensation. We help you understand what applies and what needs to be handled.
Don't give a recorded statement or sign anything. Tell them your attorney will be in touch, then call us. We take it from there.
Often, yes. New York auto policies include uninsured motorist coverage. Supplementary uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, known as SUM, may also apply depending on the policy. Coverage may come from your own policy or, in some situations, a policy in your household. We look for every policy that may apply.
In New York, most injury claims must be filed within three years, but claims against the City, MTA or other public agencies require a notice within 90 days. Call as soon as you can.
Yes. Some injuries take days to show up, and a gap between the accident and your first visit is the first thing an insurer points to. After a motor vehicle accident there is also a 30-day deadline to file your no-fault application.
It depends on your injuries and on whether the insurer makes a fair offer. A case can settle once your treatment is far enough along for us to show what the injury cost you; if the offer is not fair and we file suit, it takes longer. We tell you where your case stands at each stage.
Most cases settle without a trial. If the insurer won't make a fair offer, we're prepared to take it to a jury, and you'll be prepared too.
You may still have a claim. In most injury cases New York reduces your award by your share of fault rather than barring it. For motor vehicle cases commenced on or after May 26, 2026, recovery is allowed when your share of fault is not greater than the combined fault of the parties you are claiming against, and any recovery is still reduced by your percentage. Don't assume you have no case until you've talked to us.
You do. We give you our honest read on the offer and what we think the case is worth, and the decision is always yours.
We'll come to you, at home or in the hospital, anywhere in the five boroughs.
You can speak with our office in English, Spanish or Russian.
You can bring an injury claim in New York regardless of your immigration status. A claim for lost earnings can raise extra questions, and we will talk those through with you privately.
These answers describe New York law in general terms. They are not legal advice about your situation. For that, tell us what happened and we will answer for your case.
